2009 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Enjoy the Whitefish Downtown Farmers’ Market every Tuesday,
June through September, featuring locally grown produce, hand-made crafts,
food and entertainment. In July and August finish off the evening at the Market
with a plateful of lively music presented by the Whitefish Theatre Co. at the
O’Shaughnessy Center. Four Tuesday concerts by world renowned
musicians and bands to satisfy a variety of musical appetites.
This feast of great music will begin at 8pm.

  Sierra Hull and Highway 111
(Bluegrass at its Best)
A seasoned performer at 16, mandolin player and vocalist Sierra Hull, now with her own band, has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry radio and television shows and shared the stage with bluegrass legends such as Alison Krauss, IIIrd Tyme Out, Sam Bush, Mountain Heart and Ricky Skaggs.

 JULY 14
  BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet
(Louisiana’s Premiere Cajun Band)
Since forming in 1975, these multiple Grammy winners have claimed their undisputed role as the most esteemed Cajun group in music, taking the rich Cajun traditions of Louisiana and artfully blending elements of zydeco, New Orleans jazz, Tex-Mex, country, blues and more into a satisfying musical recipe.

JULY 21
  Missy Raines and the New Hip
(Bluegrass with more than an Twist of Jazz)
As the most decorated bass player in the history of the International Bluegrass Association, Missy Raines has formed her own band Missy Raines & the New Hip which has a recipe for fresh, zesty music. Start with bluegrass virtuosity, add in a jazz-tinged groove and a song-driven sensibility, and then dish it up with a hot band of young players. July 21

 AUGUST 11
  Grada
(Irish with a Contemporary Blend)
Based in Dublin and Galway, Grada has taken traditional Irish music forward to a new level, effortlessly blending contemporary music styles, modern songs and other forms of ethnic music with their own natural style. Traveling internationally since 2001, Grada played 120 concerts in 12 countries last year. Their stop in Whitefish finds them on their way to Nashville to cut another CD for Compass Records.
